WIGGLING VOWELS

Interstice, 2023, UAL

This was written as a contribution to the debut publication "Interstice" by MA Arts & Science, UAL, 2023. It was vastly inspired by reading about a frog species called Atelopus franciscus, also known as the stubfoot toad. They are South American tropical rainforest species that have no external vocal sac and are anatomically deaf. They communicate by producing and responding to low-intensity calls. This was also based on my research on vowel vocalizations as part of my postgraduate program.
